Central Europe: Barley acreage slightly down in most countries this year

The countries from the Czech Republic to Croatia had variable, mostly average growing conditions, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in August.

Barley acres are a bit lower in most countries. The expected production is: the Czech Republic is forecast to harvest 612 thousand tonnes of winter and 1.083 mln tonnes of spring barley; Slovakia – 220 thousand tonnes of winter, 350 thousand tonnes of spring barley.
